I have a mild to moderate hearing loss in both ears. I have paid $4,000 for top of the line hearing aids and could not wear them because they were uncomfortable and did not improve my quality of hearing or life. My dad bought an $800+ hearing aid (which is what most of them cost)and never wore it. I bought this one for him to try instead because I couldn't stand him constantly saying, "Huh?" Setup was less than five minutes, and now he hears everything clearly. He jokes that things are too clear... he's now able to hear my mom and I nagging him.
I'm a physician, and I know how much people spend on their health care. They should get the best value for their health care dollar, and this product is just as effective (if not more) than traditional overly-priced hearing aids. I purchased a 1000 dollar hearing aid. I have had it for about a year. It has bugged me the whole time. It whistles all the time, I could not carry on a conversion with anyone without it whistling. I have been back to my hearing aid doctor many times for him to adjust it, but it still whistles. I was to the point of screaming. The Acoustitone PRO is the best. I have compared it to my brother's 5000 dollar pair, and you can not tell the difference between them. Also, My battery has not been replaced yet, and I have had it for one month.

I've needed hearing aids most of my adult life. Probably ever since sitting in front of a bank of speakers at an Allman Brothers concert. My first pair of hearing aids (in the canal) were purchased through an audiologist, costing close to $2500. This was sometime in '95. At the time, it was worth it to be able to hear clearly again. That pair worked fine for about 3 years. Naturally, prices went up, so I purchased a single h.a. (in the ear) costing well over a grand. This one lasted about 2 years. I suffered without, for a long spell, as did everyone else that I begged to repeat themselves. A recent visit to an audiologist brought major sticker shock. Six thousand American dollars for a pair of behind the ear babies. Ouch!
Internet searching led me to Acoustitone Pro at barely a fraction of the cost. Certainly worth a try. Bottom line? They work just fine. They might not have the bells and whistles, like automatically lowering the level at sudden loud noises, but look at the money saved. I'm happy to hear again, my buddies are happy not to have to repeat themselves, and I no longer have to use the subtitles on dvd movies.
